It is shown that the correlation between Johnson and Stroemgren photometry for DA stars is not matched by theoretical color indices. The discrepancy is traced back to color normalization. Consistency is achieved by recalibration with white dwarf scans. Stroemgren photometry is shown to be useful also for the gravity determination of hotter DA stars.
