The paper presents a general treatment of nonlinear dust-acoustic waves in a dusty plasma which contains, in addition to the usual isothermal hot and cold electrons and isothermal positive ions, an arbitrary number of cold negatively charged dust grain species. The treatment also allows for small equilibrium dust drifts. For the general nonlinear regime, a Sagdeev potential was obtained, together with limits on possible rarefactive solutions for these dust-acoustic phenomena. An application to a dusty plasma with one kind of negative grains was carried out.
