Four recordings of the spectral reflectivity of Mars were made at 50-A intervals in the range 3225-7525 A, and the mean curve of three reliable recordings was plotted and compared with results of other investigators. Little difference was noted between the curves, even though some represent the Martian disk as a whole and others represent the continents. A special feature of the curve obtained in the present study is a plateau in the region 5800-6700 A. Attention is drawn to a similar peak in the spectrum of powdered minerals, in particular, enstatite, goethite, hematite, and limonite.
