Spectrograms in the range 3410-8450 A of the main features of the Martian albedo were obtained at the Coude focus of a 2-m reflector. The wavelength distribution of the spectral reflectivity for continents and maria was in good agreement with the results of other investigators. Variations of the mare-continent contrasts for different pairs of objects were not identical. Increases in contrast observed on some curves in the blue region can be attributed to the appearance of violet clouds over the continent. The mare-polar cap contrast decreases progressively from the blue to the IR region, also in agreement with previous investigations.
