Observations, using the Westerbork synthesis radio telescope at 21 cm in the line and at 6 cm in the continuum, of the dwarf galaxy II Zw 40 are presented. The continuum shows an infrared excess similar to the one found in galactic H II regions. A rough estimate based on the amount of internal absorption indicates a gas/dust ratio of the same order of magnitude as in our Galaxy, but observations in the far-infrared (100-300 microns) are needed to make better estimates.
