A table is included giving the orbital parameters of the comet for each apparition back to 1404 B.C. Another table lists the returns of the comet, with 256 B.C. thought to be the most ancient record. A brief description is given of the calculations and predictions made by Halley. An account is also given of the efforts to recover the comet, efforts that met success on October 16, 1982. Information is given on the brightness that can be expected in 1986.
