An MHD model of an inhomogeneity in the form of a simple three-dimensional figure, a triaxial ellipsoid, is examined with emphasis on the external velocity field in the far zone. Integral magnetohydrodynamic equations are used to determine the external field in the case of steady-state flow past an ellipsoid. The method for solving the integral magnetohydrodynamic equations proposed here can be extended to inhomogeneities of nearly ellipsodial geometry.
