An iterative technique for obtaining the temperature spectrum underlying the observed spectral energy distribution of unresolved thermal sources is presented. This problem can be identified as an inverse transformation, and the technique presented here to solve it is based on the reinterpretation of Planck's function as a conditional probability. This makes it possible to use Bayesian inference through the Richardson-Lucy algorithm to perform the inversion. To demonstrate this method, two synthetic objects are analyzed, and the convergence and noise dependence of the technique is tested. The technique is also applied to the spectral energy distributions of some T Tauri stars, although the class of objects that can be analyzed with this technique is much broader.
