Light element production in the early universe, when adiabatic fluctuations are present, is evaluated. The authors describe these fluctuations by the standard theory of adiabatic perturbations to an homogeneous background at the epoch of primordial nucleosynthesis, taking as a primeval spectrum |δk|2 ∝ kν. They obtain, in the most favourable case, D local abundances on small scales substantially different from the homogeneous case. The effect on 3He, 4He, and 7Li local production is less pronounced. Mean abundances, in every case, do not essentially differ from those found in the absence of fluctuations.
