Long-slit CCD spectra were obtained of the Sc galaxy NGC 3079. Analyses of the spectra show that a powerful wind is emanating from the nuclear region of NGC 3079. The kinematics of this outflow is discussed together with its relevance to models of galactic superwinds. The potential of superwinds to influence other galaxies is demonstrated by the presence of an H I tail trailing away from the neighboring satellite galaxy NGC 3073 situated along the trajectory of the outflow. It is also possible that the outflow from NGC 3079 induced one or more bursts of star formation in the NGC 3073.
