High-spatial-resolution spectrograms taken with the vacuum tower telescope in Tenerife were used to investigate the dynamics of the deep photospheric layers by tracing the motions of small-scale structures such as granulation. Based on a time series of these spectrograms, traces of line Doppler shifts were detected which show strong asymmetries within solar granules. The results are discussed within the framework of different granulation flow models.
