The possibility of using astronomical observations of the International Time Service to study the intradiurnal nonuniformity of the earth's rotation is discussed. A spectral analysis of data for 1968-1978 shows that waves with diurnal and semidiurnal periods are contained in these obervations. Attention is drawn to the necessity of improving the organization of Time Service observations in connection with the formulation of the new scientific problem.
