It is shown that bacterial absorptivity fits very well to observations
of GC-IRS 7 over the whole waveband from 2.9 to 3.9 microns. This
refutes Kroto's (1983) suggestion of fraud in the presentation of figure
2 of Hoyle et al in Astrophys. Sp. Sci. 1982, 83, 405.
