Flux-calibrated, digital spectra for the nuclei of 139 field disk galaxies were obtained for this program. Absorption and emission line equivalent widths, as well as nuclear colors and magnitudes, have been determined from those spectra. The emission line data provide the basis for the estimation of median H-alpha equivalent widths as a function of morphological type and nuclear color. The correlation of the forbidden N II to H alpha flux ratio with other nuclear properties of the survey galaxies is also examined. More detailed analyses of these survey spectra plus comparison with similar surveys of cluster disk galaxies will be presented in later papers.
