The spectrum of the Seyfert galaxy Mrk 1388 is described. It is unusual in having strong high-ionization lines (in particular, the forbidden lines of Fe VII and Fe X) and a strong featureless continuum, but narrow H I lines with essentially the same widths as the forbidden lines. The spectrum thus combines characteristics usually found separately in Seyfert 1 and Seyfert 2 galaxies.
