High spatial resolution mapping of the region around the near-infrared source NGC 6334 IRS V-1 shows it to consist of three discrete sources, whose linear arrangement resembles a bipolar nebula. None of these sources corresponds to an object visible on the SERC I plate of this region. The high infrared polarization of the easternmost source IRS V-1 suggests that it may be a reflection nebula illuminated by a nearby hidden source, perhaps IRS V-2 or V-3.
