Photographic and spectroscopic observations are reported in this paper for two recent supernovae, discovered in NGC 6946 (SN 1980-k) and in NGC 4536 (SN 1981-b). The first object results to be a type II SN with almost linear decline, and very similar properties in comparison with SN 1979-c in M 100. The second one is a type I ('fast') SN, with typical photometric and spectral evolution. Absolute magnitudes are derived, and they are bright in both cases with regard to the average values derived for the two types. The two supernovae here described, were also observed in a wide range of frequencies (X-rays, ultraviolet, infrared, radio).
