Changes of entropy and entropy flux induced by the occurrence of spiral density waves in the disks of normal spiral galaxies are discussed. It is shown that the entropy of the galactic disk is lowered by the appearance of spiral structure in the regions between the Lindblad and corotation resonances. The spiral waves are assumed to be tightly wound so that the WKBJ approximation may be applied. The excess entropy associated with the spiral waves is identified as the energy density of the waves divided by the kinetic temperature of the galactic disk. The swing amplifier and WASER mechanisms to amplify spiral density waves are discussed regarding the entropy flux which carries continuously entropy out of the regions of spiral structure towards the outer Lindblad resonance region.
