The Lake Bosumtwi impact crater, Ghana, (age 1.07 Ma, diameter 10.5 km)
is one of the youngest and best-preserved complex terrestrial impact
structures. It was excavated from hard crystalline target rock and is
the source of the Ivory Coast tektite strewn field. It is almost
entirely filled by the Lake Bosumtwi.
