X-ray studies of the nucleosynthesis products in supernova remnants have been given new impetus by the combination of superior angular resolution and good spectral resolution that is provided by the Chandra and XMM Observatories. This talk will give particular emphasis to the bright historical Galactic remnant Cassiopeia A; this remnant is unique in that X-ray emitting ejecta knots from multiple explosive nucleosynthesis zones have been identified, including an unusual population of Fe-rich knots, of which some may be nearly pure Fe. The spectral and dynamic properties of the ejecta knots may further be used to probe the asymmetry of the explosion. Recent results will also be reviewed for X-ray emission from ejecta in other young and middle-aged remnants.
