I summarize the ongoing efforts to detect or set bounds on the gravitational radiation from a variety of potential sources including binary black hole binaries, pulsars, primordial gravitational waves, and serendipitous events of an unexpected origin. I will extrapolate the most recent LIGO results to future science runs and discuss the astrophysical importance of gravitational wave observations.
