THE central stars of planetary nebulæ have effective temperatures1-3, Ts, ranging from 3 × 104 ° K to about 2.5 × 105 ° K. Such stars may therefore be much hotter than the hottest main sequence stars which have temperatures of about 4 × 104 ° K. To obtain a better understanding of the nature of very hot stars, a number of non-grey model atmospheres have been computed.
