Spectra of the dust-surrounded carbon star CIT 6 were obtained with the television multichannel spectrophotometer of the 6-meter telescope. In the wavelength range 3800 - 4400 Å absorption lines of Ca II, H I, absorption bands of C3 and emission line, probably of S II were identified. The blue and violet spectrum of CIT 6 is shown to be similar to that of the bipolar object AFGL 2688. The results support a suggestion that the object CIT 6 contains a star of spectral type about F.
