Photometric and spectroscopic observations of 130528.91 + 294504.2, identified by Elston et al. (1988) as a candidate for a luminous protogalaxy at z of about 6, have shown it to be a moderate-luminosity elliptical-type galaxy at z = 0.285. The present photometric observations are consistent with the spectral energy distribution of a normal elliptical galaxy at this redshift, although a modest IR excess cannot be ruled out.
