The formation and capture of neutron stars in globular clusters are investigated, comparing observed X-ray-source counts with the predictions of numerical simulations based on the empirical models of Meylan (1987 and 1988) for Omega Cen and 47 Tuc. The data and results are presented in tables and graphs and discussed in detail. The number of X-ray sources predicted on the basis of low-mass X-ray binary formation rates is larger than the number observed, and it is inferred that most neutron stars formed in clusters have escaped. The fractions of neutron-star captures attributed to giants are 12 and 28 percent for Omega Cen and 47 Tuc, respectively, and it is predicted that there should be 7 and 36 tidal-capture cataclysmic variables in the respective clusters.
