The radio continuum emission of three samples of bright galaxies with LINER (low ionization emission-line nuclear spectra), H II regionlike, and Seyfert nuclei is compared in order to explore the relation between the optical emission-line spectra classification of galactic nuclei and the radio properties of their host galaxies. The results show that Seyfert galaxies contain the strongest central radio sources, which are confirmed as providing in many cases the bulk of the total radio emission of Seyfert galaxies. The LINER galaxies tend to have the weakest central radio sources and display, on average, weaker radio emission that the H galaxies.
