Uranus, Neptune, Brightness
Scientific paper
Four individuals measured the brightness of Uranus and Neptune with photoelectric equipment. The selected 2005 normalized magnitudes of Uranus are B(1,0)=-6.66±0.02 and V(1,0)=-7.12±0.01 and the corresponding values for Neptune are: B(1,0)=-6.60±0.03 and V(1,0)=-7.00±0.01. The writer concludes that Uranus and Neptune did not undergo periodic brightness changes with amplitudes exceeding 0.01 magnitudes with periods equal to either the planetary or solar rotation periods during the late months of 2001, 2002 or 2003.
