One photograph and three Fabry-Perot interferograms have been obtained in H-alpha light for the filaments located at the SW portion of the CTB 80 source's core. The radial velocities of the filaments are noted to point to a physical association between them and the central source. The hypothesis of a chance superposition of the core with the larger radio and optical structure is ruled out by the present results, which instead reinforce the estimate of the kinematical distance of the object made by Angerhofer et al. (1980).
