The paper considers the propagation of converging spherical magnetogasdynamic waves through a gas of varying density and infinite electrical conductivity; the gas is assumed to release a constant amount of energy per unit mass. The detonation is a Chapman-Jouget front, i.e., it travels at a sonic speed relative to the combusted gas. An expression for the similarity exponent is obtained, and the effects of varying density and magnetic field on the front velocity and flow parameters are investigated.
