In this work the authors analyze the Uranian kilometric radiation polarization which was measured by the planetary radio astronomy (PRA) experiment along the Voyager 2 trajectory around the planet in order to determine the location of the radio sources. The polarization response of the PRA experiment is first modeled and calibrated; the authors then show how the polarization response of the PRA instrument to an elliptically polarized radiation allows one to infer the direction, size, and polarization state of the radio source. This method is applied to the observations obtained during the 2 days around the closest approach and the most probable source locations are deduced. The authors summarize and discuss the results in the context of the Uranian radio physics.
