A spherical symmetry model of the airflow velocity field in the circumferential envelope of NML Cyg was constructed by Masheder's (1974) LBI observation of maser radiations at OH 1612 MHz. The observations showed that the redshift and blueshift components are derived from different shells of the circumferential envelope. Based on this model, the mass loss rate, coherent length, and the pumping mechanism are discussed, showing agreement with the observations. It is concluded that the SiO nonmaser radiation is a good indicator of the radial velocity and of the airflow velocity field of the circumstellar envelope in an infrared star.
