Spectrographic observations of the type 1 Seyfert galaxy NGC 7469 have been made. Measurements have shown that the forbidden lines are blue-shifted, with respect to the permitted lines, thus confirming the results obtained by Barbieri et al. (1977). The tilt of the H-alpha line differs from that of the forbidden N II line, lambda 6584. Those two lines also extend relatively far out from the nuclear region. With one exception, the red shift of these lines increases with distance from the nucleus.
