JHK photometry is presented and discussed for a sample of the stars
discovered on a 2.2-micron survey of a small region of the Sgr I Baade
window. The stars, which appear redder and fainter than those identified
in previous photographic infrared surveys, occur at high density and
show a well-defined giant branch.
