Presented here is a summary of nearly 100 high energy X-ray observations carried out within the period 1974 October to 1979 January from the Ariel V satellite. The detector covered the photon energy range 26-1200 keV and on average detected about 35 per cent of the sources studied. The positive results are used to construct a log N-log S curve for the galactic disc sources at these energies. Only two extragalactic sources were detected (apart from SMC X- 1), these being NGC 4151 and Centaurus A.
