The cosmochronologically important nuclear production ratios 232Th/238U, 235U/238U, and 244Pu/238U are calculated in the context of a specific model for r-process nucleosynthesis which predicts an overall abundance pattern in good agreement with the distribution of abundances of the r-process nuclei in solar system matter. The calculated production ratios, when interpreted within a simple exponential model of Galactic evolution allowing values of initial disk enrichment ranging from approximately 10% to 30%, lead to Galactic ages ranging from 12.4 to 14.7×109yr. More complex Galactic evolution models with infall and without instantaneous initial metal enrichment could increase the age of the Galaxy by as much as approximately 2 - 3×109yr.
