Strömgren photometry of B- and A-type stars in the southern open clusters NGC 2323 and NGC 5662 up to V = 11.5 mag is presented. The membership of the observed stars is discussed and a mean reddening of E(b-y) = 0.186 and E(b-y) = 0.234 for the clusters is estimated, respectively. In both cases variable reddening across the cluster area is found. Furthermore, the occurrence of chemically peculiar early type (CP2) stars is examined.
