Several components of dust mid-IR emission were extracted from the analysis of the spectro-imagery ISO-CAM data of the reflection nebula NGC 7023 using a singular value decompositon method. This work strongly suggests that Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are produced by photo-evaporation of Very Small Grains (VSGs) and are ionized close to the star. It is proposed that these VSGs are PAH clusters. The most stable structures of such clusters have been calculated, providing some interesting clues on these potential interstellar species.
