Spectrophotometry of Kepler SN in the range 3700-10,500 A is presented. The far red region, presented here for the first time for an SNR, exhibits forbidden S II, S III, Fe II, and C I lines. Recent calculations by Nussbaumer and Storey (1981, 1982) make it possible to identify the observed 7378 and 7412 lines as forbidden Ni II. The reddening found from the forbidden S II lines differs from the one found from the Balmer decrement; this is seen as possibly indicating large variations in absorption over a small field. The spectrum is interpreted as the result of a shock propagating in a dense medium of approximately 300 per cu cm for a shock velocity of 120 km/s. It is noted that whereas the latter cannot be accurately determined because of a lack of specific models, it lies somewhere between 90 and 170 km/s.
