The Galactic supernova remnant (SNR) G 127.1+0.5 contains the open cluster NGC 559 and the radio point source 0125+628 within its boundaries. Continuum measurements of the SNR at 608.5 MHz with the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope (WSRT), and H I absorption spectra toward 0125+628 with the WSRT and the Very Large Array (VLA) are reported. The observations strongly suggest that there is no physical connection between the SNR, the point source, and the open cluster.
