The activities of the Laboratory of Space Research at Groningen are surveyed. This laboratory is a part of the Dutch Space Research Foundation. The 25 year history of space research at Groningen is summarized. Presently, the laboratory is building an infrared instrument (short wavelength spectrometer) for ISO (Infrared Space Observatory). The design and purposes of this instrument are described. SIS Detectors are developed for a submillimeter detector for ISO.
