A Venus orbiter project is proceeding in Japan. The goal of the mission is to understand the atmospheric dynamics of Venus, including the mysterious wind system called the super-rotation. The spacecraft will carry 5 multi-wavelength cameras to explore the atmospheric motions in three dimensions. The science background and the strategy of the mission are described in this article.
