We will obtain long-slit spectra of the Narrow Line Regions of a sample of four nearby Seyfert galaxies. Previous HST studies have shown that the narrow line-emission originates in two separate components, the first spatially associated with the radio-emitting plasma, the second with gas located in the galaxy disk. The first component arises from the interaction of the radio-emitting outflow with the external medium, which is compressed, accelerated and heated in this process. It shows a highly perturbed kinematics and often peculiar emission-line ratios. Long-slit spectra with a broad wavelength coverage are necessary to investigate the effects of the jet-cloud interaction and in particular the role of energy transfer from the jet to the emitting gas. Conversely, the gas associated with the disk emission is essentially unperturbed and follows the galactic rotation. The study of its kinematics provide a unique tool to probe the gravitational potential of the nuclear regions of Seyfert galaxies down to a limit radius of 5 to 30 pc. This is particularly important to detect and measure the mass concentration associated with any centralmassive black hole.
