Hst Proposal Id #8049

Scientific paper

This proposal defines four long WFPC2 decontamination events, each 24 hours at +22C, that will occur during the second NIC3 campaign. These decontaminations should be executed during the first week to ten days {depending on the schedule} of the campaign. Each decon starts 42 to 54 hours after the previous, leaving 12-24 hour gap between them assuming each decon is about 30 hours: 24 hours at +22C and 6 hours for warm-up and cool-down. Each decon is followed by five 30 minute darks. During this time, no external science WFPC2 observations should execute, just schedule other standard calibration internals.
