This proposal is used to determine and monitor the optimal focus settings for NIC2/NIC3 during the dewar warm-up period at the end of 1998. This proposal will run both a NIC2 and a NIC3 focus sweep twice a week until the cryogen is completely exhausted and an equilibrium temperature is reached. Each visit is 1.5 orbits, and there are enough visits here to run this proposal for 3 months {24 total}, although the total number executed will be dictated by the date we reach the cutoff temperature {100K ??}, and should be much less than the full 24. Objectives: The focus monitor data establishes the relative positions of the detectors and their optical bench. While we do not expect to see large variations, these data should provide some level of validation of the finite element models of the dewar and are a check against unexpected changes within the dewar.
