AMICA (Antarctic Mid-Infrared Camera) is the main focal plane instrument for the IRAIT telescope. It is based on a Si:As BIB 128x128 array, working in the spectral range 2 - 28 \mum. The camera is designed to operate at the Dome-C base, on the Antarctic Plateau. The low sky background emission, the excellent atmospheric transparency and stability, and the very low temperature make this site probably the best one for mid-IR observations. AMICA will exploit these conditions, starting from the summer Antarctic campaign 2005-2006.
