In just two orbits, the number, temperatures, and luminosities of red giants at 1.8 R_e in M32 will be fully revealed by combining NICMOS 1.6Mu images with this team's previous WFPC2 V and I data {Grillmair et al. 1996, AJ, 112, 1975; GTO 5435}. The resulting I-H color-magnitude data will test the reality of infrared-bright giants seen in ground-based data. Further, the WFPC2+NICMOS data combination will allow these stars to be located in the V-I CMD, which could not be done previously. The colors of the bright giants translate almost directly into an abundance distribution, and the Grillmair et al. abundance distribution will be refined by consideration of the reduced color errors in the combined data. Because younger populations have a less luminous first-ascent giant branch {RGB} tip, the new, reliable luminosity function to 2 mag below the old-age RGB tip will measure the amount of age<2 Gyr population present to an extent limited by counting statistics. The data will solidly define the helium shell-burning asymptotic giant branch population for later interpretation as the theory of the AGB grows more mature. In parallel, WFPC2 will obtain V and I photometry in fields to the NE of M32 to track changes in the abundance distribution with radius in M31.
