By exploiting the high sensitivity, spatial resolution and dynamic range of NICMOS to observe a well defined sample of "warm" hyperluminous infrared galaxies, we will expand our knowledge of their complicated relationship with the QSO phenomenon. The main sample was drawn from the most luminous known infrared galaxies using the "warm" selection criterion [0.25 <= Fn{25um}/Fn{60um} <= 3], and is divided into two subsamples: {1} objects completely dominated by narrow-line optical spectra; {2} objects with QSO-like optical broad lines. All objects in subsample {1} have broad-line spectra detected in optical polarized light suggesting that if viewed from a different direction, these objects would be classified as QSOs. The nuclear regions will be well penetrated in the 1-2 um bands by NICMOS reducing the confusion caused at shorter wavelengths by viewing angle. MULTIACCUM observations will be obtained with total integration yielding 4 times saturation in the central pixel. Typically 6 of the 26 samples will be unsaturated on the central image in each exposure, giving accurate measurements of the complete PSF with gradually increasing non-linearity effects. Coronographic measurements of some objects will enable longer exposures to pull out the underlying galactic structure at greater distances from the central point sources.
