To demonstrate the highest STIS resolution in the UV, the star CPD-59D2603, located in the Carina Nebula and known from optical and IUE observations to display spectacular interstellar-line velocity structure over a range of at least 340 km/sec, will be observed with the H echelles. It is expected that STIS will resolve many more velocity components than previously observed in these intricate profiles. The phenomenon is likely due to interaction between the massive stellar winds and the surrounding interstellar material, and it is probably related to the diffuse X-ray emission from the region.
