Spectrophotometry of the integrated spectrum for the 25 arcsec central zone of the compact E galaxy M32 yields spectral indices for the 5150 A Mg, 7150 A TiO absorption features relative to the continuum, as well as wideband U-B, B-V colors. These indicate that the star population has a logarithmic metallicity with the concentration of m/H= -0.6 + or - 0.3 compared with the sun; stars are continuing to form, 0.025 percent (by mass) of all stars having been born in the past 10 to the 8th yr; and the initial mass function has a slope = 3.0 + or - 0.4.
