A dense molecular concentration has been detected in the J = 1→0 transition of C18O towards the compact submillimeter sources in L1551 and B 335. The CO/H2 abundance ratio appears normal in L1551 but CO may be depleted by an order of magnitude in B 335. The authors show evidence that high density clumps from the L1551 circumstellar region are being caught up in the CO outflow.
